Massage

Are you looking to unwind? Or maybe your muscles are feeling sore, or you’re looking to work out knots. Well, you’re probably looking for a massage! We have plenty of options depending on just how you’re looking to relax or what you’re trying to work through.

When you came here, if you were thinking to yourself “I just want a massage!”, then you’re probably looking for one of our big 3 options: Relaxing, Therapeutic, and Deep Tissue. Think of them like they’re on a spectrum of least to most pressure, where Relaxing uses very little pressure, and Deep Tissue is so deep that it can really get down into problem areas, but its more physically demanding on the body. Most people booking services with us are looking for Therapeutic, which lands somewhere in the middle!

However, there are a lot of different options that we offer beyond your traditional massage, each one coming with its own benefits to help with different issues. If you’re curious to learn more about our more traditional massage services or something a little different that might catch your eye, click or tap one of the other options above to learn more!

RelaxiNG Massage

A Relaxing Massage is a beautiful combination of massage techniques flowing together in a soft and melodic rhythm, designed specifically to help unwind and release your body and mind. Compared to most of our services, the pressure is light enough that it does the least to dig into physical aches, pains, and knots. Instead, it gently soothes tension, promotes circulation, and encourages a deep sense of tranquility. This massage is perfect for those seeking a peaceful escape from daily stress, allowing you to fully recharge. Sometimes, all you really need is a moment to truly relax, refresh, and rejuvenate!

Therapeutic Massage

Our most popular service at Skin to Soul, a Therapeutic Massage blends a variety of techniques to create a customized experience that is both relaxing and effective. This medium-pressure massage is ideal for those who want more than just relaxation—it helps relieve tension and discomfort while still being gentler than a Deep Tissue Massage. Whether you’re dealing with muscle stiffness, stress, or you just need a reset, our skilled therapists will tailor the session to your specific needs. They are trained to identify and target knots and aches, working with you to develop a plan that leaves you feeling like a self-care winner!

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

A more intensive session, this massage is less about relaxation and more about addressing deep-seated tension and chronic muscle tightness. It applies firm, focused pressure to get to the root of persistent aches and mobility restrictions. Using a progression of specialized techniques, a deep tissue massage works methodically to release stubborn knots, break down adhesions, and improve circulation. While highly effective, it can leave you feeling sore for a few days as your muscles adjust to the deep work. To ensure the best results and minimize discomfort, it’s recommended to focus on a few key areas needing the most attention.

Our skilled staff is specially trained to support you through every stage of your journey, ensuring both you and your baby feel nurtured. We even use a special cradle designed with your growing belly in mind, allowing you to lie face down comfortably. TRIGGER POINT MASSAGE

It’s less about the massage and more about going on a knot hunt! This specialized technique actively seeks out tension points and focuses on breaking them down with targeted pressure. Once a knot is identified, firm pressure is applied to release built-up tension, followed by a medium-pressure massage to ensure the area stays loose and relaxed. Then, it’s on to the next knot, continuing this focused approach throughout the session. While this method can be physically demanding to some, it’s ideal for those more concerned about the negative effects of knots rather than overall muscle relaxation, promoting lasting relief and improved mobility.

HOT STONE MASSAGE

Hot Stone Massage is designed to melt away tension and promote deep relaxation, offering a soothing yet effective way to relieve stress. Heated, smooth stones are warmed to a comfortable yet impactful temperature and used to massage the body to ease muscle stiffness. The heat allows for deeper penetration into the tissues without the need for excessive pressure, making it a great option for those who want both relaxation and relief from tension. Many find it to be the best of both worlds—combining the therapeutic benefits of heat with the gentle yet effective touch of massage techniques.

Barefoot Massage

Barefoot Massage, also sometimes called Ashiatsu, is a modality that can range from a therapeutic Swedish style massage to a compressive, deep tissue massage where the therapist uses their feet as the primary tool, instead of their hands. The therapist delivers broad, consistent pressure by utilizing the feet and body weight as tools with the support of overhead bars for balance and leverage. By working with gravity instead of against it, barefoot massage therapists are able to provide an effective, therapeutic, and/or deep tissue massage without causing pain or discomfort.

THAI MASSAGE

Often described as “Lazy Yoga” or assisted stretching, Thai Massage is a dynamic and invigorating experience that blends movement and pressure to promote overall well-being. Performed on a Thai Massage mat or a regular massage table, this technique allows the client to remain fully clothed while the therapist guides them through a series of stretches and rhythmic pressing motions. By incorporating deep compression, acupressure, and passive stretching, it helps to enhance flexibility, improve circulation, and relieve muscle and joint tension. This therapeutic approach not only increases mobility but also leaves you feeling refreshed, balanced, and deeply relaxed.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

The lymphatic system is a crucial part of your immune system, responsible for filtering waste and maintaining fluid balance, but it can become clogged over time. Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle, specialized technique that uses light pressure and short, rhythmic strokes—without lotion—to stimulate the movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. Many seek this therapy when dealing with lymphedema, sinus congestion, migraines, or general swelling. It’s also commonly used as a vital part of post-surgical recovery to reduce inflammation and support healing. This soothing treatment promotes detoxification, enhances circulation, and helps restore the body’s natural balance.

Integrative Cupping Massage

If built-up tension isn’t releasing with traditional massage, cupping might be the solution! This technique uses silicone cups to create negative pressure, lifting tissue rather than compressing it. Cupping helps loosen stubborn knots and improve circulation, making it easier to break through deep-seated tension. Cups can also be left on problem areas while your therapist works elsewhere, maximizing effectiveness. This method allows multiple areas to be treated at once, enhancing your session’s benefits. If you’re seeking deeper relief and better results, massage with cupping is an excellent option to complement traditional techniques and improve overall muscle relaxation.

PLEASE NOTE: There are many pre-existing conditions and other possible issues that may limit our ability to provide a safe cupping experience, either to your entire body or certain areas. Please click here to see our list of conditions that may prohibit our ability to offer this service to you. You can also call or book a free phone consultation if you have further questions.

ALSO: Due to the suction from the cups, there is always a chance of visible cupping marks on any areas that receive cupping work. These marks are not bruises, but a superficial pooling of blood in areas with prolonged cup application. Some people may not receive any marks at all, while others may have marks lasting up to several weeks, so keep this in mind before getting work done on a specific area.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

Myofascial Release is what we consider our specialty at Skin to Soul.  It’s a technique that is used to repair the fascia, a gel-like connective web that runs through your entire body and around every single structure of your body. In simple terms: Fascia is essentially your body’s shock absorber. Over time, or with a shock to our system, fascia can harden and form “pockets” of stuckness. We offer Myofascial Release Therapy in the John Barnes Myofascial Approach, and target the fascia of the body to unlock and unwind it from restriction.

Many clients report John Barnes Myofascial Release as unlike anything they’ve experienced! It can be relaxing, tingling, and provide a sense of warmth as fascia starts releasing. Tightness can melt away and the relief can often be felt throughout the body. Myofascial Release gets at the root cause of your issue, rather than masking it.

We highly recommend Myofascial Release to both the curious and the desperate alike. If you’re looking for an explanation for your pain that doctors, medication, and physical therapists have not been able to find an answer for, we’re hoping that we can make Myofascial Release the elegant solution that will let you finally live a life free of the pain you’ve been living with.

The head, face, and jaw are as delicate as they are important, and any tension in these areas can lead to discomfort that can be felt throughout. Intra Oral Myofascial Release is a specialized technique designed to restore balance by addressing restricted fascia around the head and jaw. Using a gloved hand, the therapist works inside the mouth to release tight jaw muscles, offering relief for a range of issues. INTEGRATIVE CUPPING Myofascial Release

Cupping is the process of holding silicone cups along the body using their suction, creating a negative pressure that lifts the tissue from the body to release tension. Myofascial Release is a fairly methodical process as well, and that’s why cupping compliments it wonderfully. Using the suction of the silicone cups can help your therapist be in two places at once, softening tissue and reducing muscle tension in one area while releasing fascial restrictions in another. This is not only helpful for performing two kinds of work on the body at once, but also because loosening an area with the cups makes coming back to the same area for a fascial release more effective.

PLEASE NOTE: There are many pre-existing conditions and other possible issues that may limit our ability to provide a safe cupping experience, either to your entire body or certain areas. Energy Healing

Energy healing encompasses a variety of techniques that aim to restore the flow and balance of energy within the body. Practitioners believe that energy imbalances or blockages can lead to physical and emotional distress, potentially manifesting as stress, fatigue, or illness. By addressing these imbalances, energy healing aims to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Energy Healing is a holistic practice that focuses on manipulating the body’s energy fields to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. These practices have gained popularity for their gentle, non-invasive approach
to healing and their emphasis on balancing the body’s energies.

Additionally, many people turn to energy healing as a complementary therapy to support their overall health and wellness. It can work in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic treatments to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Many individuals find these practices beneficial for reducing anxiety, improving sleep, and fostering a deep sense of relaxation and overall well-being.

REIKI

Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that promotes balance and harmony within the body. This gentle yet powerful energy-healing technique feels like a warm, radiant flow surrounding and moving through you, addressing not just physical discomfort but also emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Reiki has numerous benefits, including deep relaxation, stress reduction, and an enhanced sense of peace and security. During a session, the client remains fully clothed while the practitioner lightly places their hands on or above specific areas, channeling healing energy to release blockages and restore the body’s natural flow.

Magical Myofascial Release is a transformative experience that blends traditional Myofascial Release with intuitive insights and energetic healing. This unique session channels messages directly from the restrictions in your body, allowing both you and your therapist to explore deeper layers of healing and self-discovery. The difference here is that the therapist can actually share with you in an open hearted and kind way, what they see and feel, rather than waiting for you to see it on your own.
