Advanced Level For Myofascial
Office Manager, Myofascial Release Therapist

Jen graduated from the Cortiva Institute in Boston, and has been a licensed massage therapist since 2016. Before working in massage therapy, she found herself working in retail, but also has a history in the health care system.

The moment she decided to take massage more seriously was actually while she was working at a group home. She worked long, physically demanding shifts with a supervisor that happened to be a retired massage therapist. Alyssa was often asked by her supervisor to help with the occasional knot in her shoulders, and over and over she would tell her that she had a talent and should try going to school for massage. With the vote on confidence from someone who used to be in the industry, she eventually followed that encouragement and started sending out requests to schools for more information. Next thing she knew, she was in orientation 3 days later!

She fell in love with massage when she realized she could make lasting changes in the pain that people were dealing with. Growing up, her dad had a medication reaction that gave him lyme induced severe rheumatoid arthritis. He was told by doctor after doctor that there was nothing they could do and that he would just have to live like this. The best gift she was given by going to massage school was being able to help those who have been given up on by traditional medicine.

Her personal style for MFR can be described as deceptively gentle but deep techniques mixed with mobilization. She specializes in chronic pain, and has experience with treating headaches/migraines, TMJ, women’s health issues, and autoimmune disorders. Having all of these personally has helped her to understand how much MFR helps with minimizing symptoms and managing invisible pain.

In her spare time, she loves reading, spending time with her dog, gaming with friends, hiking, and snowmobiling.
